Senior Accountant Eastern Europe
The Senior Accountant for Eastern Europe, oversees the financial accounting, internal controls and treasury activities of Poland, Czech Rep., Hungary working very closely with the accounting team in GBS Romania [dotted line management of AP, GL and RTR accountants], stakeholders in the countries and with external accounting and tax reporting firms in each of the markets.
Management of the overall accounting function by establishing and enforcing all accounting policies and procedures related to general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting (including the accrual and provision policies in each of the markets).
Governance of the month end close process and compliance with the group's monthly and annual Financial Reporting requirements from an internal and external (statutory and tax) perspective.
Ensuring compliance and internal control standards are in line with group policies and guidelines; governance of the DOA and SoD matrices for the markets. Key business partner to all internal and external audits.
Management of local treasury activities (management of bank account structures in line with corporate Treasury Policies; optimization of banking and lending costs); daily liquidity management; cash pooling arrangement with group.
Governance of intercompany transactions and recognition under local GAAP and IFRS. Ensuring that all required documentation, reports and filings regarding intercompany are up to date (e.g. transfer pricing policies).
Ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local legal requirements; anticipates future legislation, advises management on any needed action. Preparation of Annual Accounts (including the „Notes to the Accounts") and the Annual Return, for sign-off and submission for filing.
5-8 years of accounting experience
University degree in Accounting, Finance
Good understanding of accounting principles
Proven knowledge of General Ledger processes
Very good command of English, both verbal and in writing (C1/C2)
Proven knowledge of SAP
Very good MS Office skills
Ability to review, understand and interpret financial data
High level of customer service and very good communication skills
Strong solving capabilities with an inquisitive mind-set to find solutions
